I went to a
Uni Expo at MAQU last Thursday. VERY interesting. It felt like HK with all the people squishing to get to their desired booths and everyone grabbing all the free stuff in the stalls. I felt SO CHEAP when I went and
got the pens and lollies and the free undergraduate books XD. Saw students from alot of schools
(bumped into two hot guys before leaving the EXPO...HIGHLIGHT OF THE DAY ^^).
I got alot of information on Business and Architecture(design) only.
I listened to 3 people in total:
1.
Some 30 something year old guy that was promoting a business college that doesn't require any ATAR and gives work experience while studying for your business diploma in marketing, accounting, whatever. Apparently the govt is giving out
financial support or something to students who wants to go to business colleges/design colleges. I personally don't plan on going to those colleges. Although they sound great and all, I'd rather go straight to university than waste a year in a college (no offense to anyone who happens to go to these colleges and happens to read this)
2.
Some young girl at a design booth that had the most STYLISH information booklet (more like a thin 3 page booklet). She was promoting her design college and saying how the founder of the college was a designer herself/himself and had worked in famous design shops in America.
"This college is found by designers for designers"
I was so persuaded to go to this college if I don't make it for my desired course in uni but when I looked at
how much I had to pay annually to this college, I immediately wanted to stop talking to this woman. Although she did mention govt gives financial support, its still doesn't appeal to me anymore (: loving my cheap asianness
3.
A guy from UTS at the Bachelor of Arts booth. He was VERY good at explaining (: I was SO into it. He explained things pretty well without me having to look through the booklet (Found out later he was actually in his 2nd/3rd year for Bachelor of Arts in Media &Communication i.e. Journalism). Really want to go to UTS now because their
ATAR requirements are within my expected range and they have courses I want to get into if I don't get into uni.
After MAQU, Corn drove me and two friends to Dominos, got pizza, drove A to tutor and then to school where we had to have
2 hours worth of 4U. T_T Depressing. Everyone in our 4U class had free pizza thanks to Corn (:
At night, 4 friends and I went to
Chartered Accountants Cadetship Evening. We got to get free stuff again! And this time we got
free drinks as well, which I found out later that there was none left for the group after us as our group drank most of it off (:< kaka.
Had dinner at this AWESOME Japanese restaurant (
WAGAYA)that two friends introduced us to. Very cool and very modern and very JAP. They had individual stalls and you have almost complete privacy. One cool thing they have is they have a screen where you can order food and the food comes REALLY quickly. SO efficient! (thumbs up!!) The only thing I didn't like about it is that
HOT food is very LIMITED...and so if you want to eat hot food, then you are better off at other restaurants. They only have ramen & stir fried noodles as hot food. Others have no rice/noodle so not very filling.
